Today, I show you how to get custom ringtones onto your Nextel Motorola i580 •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Written out instructions: First - Pick all of the songs you want to use as a custom ringtone Second - Take them to windows movie maker (or a program you can use to crop your audio) Third - Crop your songs down to 15 seconds or less, each Fourth - Click "Save to my computer" http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ Fifth - Open iTunes and go to: Edit / Preferences / Import Settings / Switch from AAC Encoder to MP3 Encoder / Switch the Setting to 'Custom' / Change the settings to look like this Stereo Bit Rate: 64 kbps Sample Rate: 8.000 kHz Channels: Mono And leave ALL BOXES UNCHECKED Push OK Sixth - Highlight and drag all of your cropped music to iTunes and it should ask you to convert from WMA, if it doesn't (because you're using a separate audio cropped) then right click the songs you chose and push "convert to MP3" then it will convert to the settings we did in step Five Seventh - Right click your songs and click 'Show in windows explorer' For those of you who don't have the adapter, the best deal I could find at BestBuy was this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8704397&st=mini+sd+card+adapter&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1199495884089 Eighth - Get your Mini SD Card and a Mini SD Card Adapter and put your Mini SD Card into the Adapter and insert it into your computer Ninth - Drag all of the finished files from the "Windows Explorer" that you opened up in iTunes, to a folder called "AUDIO" (if there is not folder called "AUDIO" on your card, then create one by right clicking a blank area / New / Folder / Rename it to "AUDIO") Tenth - Remove the SD Card from the computer, then remove your Mini SD Card from the Adapter and then insert it into your phone Eleventh - Open up the Main Menu by clicking the Menu button, scroll over to Media Center, hit left on the directional pad until your see Card: Audio and the highlight the song you want to use as a ringtone and then click the Menu button and click 'Assign as Ringer' Twelfth - Choose the options you want to use that ringer for and then shut your phone and hold the volume up button to test it out (or call your phone) AND THERE YOU GO! ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
